Tymofey Wowk is currently employed as the Vice President of Strategic Business Development at Clean Technique, LLC, a pre-revenue quality-focused contract manufacturer located in Western Massachusetts. Previously, he worked as a research consultant at the Office of Institutional Advancement at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and the College of Engineering and Information Technology Dean’s Office at UMBC on both quantitative and mixed-methods research projects. He has extensive experience in data management and statistical analyses using nationally representative federal datasets such as the ECLS-k, BPS, IPEDS, ELS/NELS, and has presented findings from these projects at the American Education Research Association national conferences. Tym was also a professor for 13+ years at both public and private universities. As a PhD candidate at UMBC, Tym’s dissertation research is comprised of advanced quantitative data analysis using a dataset he merged from the BPS and IPEDS, and theory from the fields of education, sociology, psychology, and economics. His research focuses on factors facilitating the persistence of racial/ethnic minority and low-income community college students. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Ithaca College, a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from UMBC.
