Shoshanna N. Silverberg is a connector of people and a mover of information. She finds strategic points of entry into the cannabis industry for professionals, companies and 501(c) organizations seeking to leverage their expertise from outside the space and assists companies already in the space to expand their network and develop their businesses from a thought leadership perspective. Her years as a yoga teacher, hospice care provider and community activist, facilitating self-care and trauma stewardship workshops for at-risk youth and human service professionals in her community gives her a distinct humane foundational intersection in the cannabis industry.

Shoshanna lobbied for medical marijuana before Connecticut’s General Assembly in 2005, going on to serve as a Human Rights Fellow for the American Civil Liberties Union then a consultant to the State of Connecticut evaluating the implementation of prisoner reentry programs. She has served as a member of the City of Hartford’s Juvenile Review Board (a balanced & restorative approach to justice), CT’s Sentencing Task Force and its Juvenile Justice Policy & Operations Council. Her civil liberties advocacy extends into reproductive justice and public health as well. Shoshanna has served on numerous boards and steering committees of nonprofits, commissions and community groups focused on addressing access to reproductive and general health care services.  

Shoshanna began working on the business side of the Cannabis space in 2015. She worked with Electrum Partners in its early stages and went on from there to work with startups such as CannaRegs, GeekTek, Indiva Advisors and the National Cannabis Bar Association.

Shoshanna holds an Master of Arts in Holistic Thinking and a Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law, where she edited a multimedia Journal of Leadership and the Law. Shoshanna has been a featured blogger on CuttingEdgeLaw.com and Ms. JD.  She has been a guest lecturer for the New Paradigms in Law class offered at the Touro Law Center in Central Islip, New York and for Pepperdine University’s Department of Public Policy and is a contributing author to Lawyers as Changemakers: The Global Integrative Law Movement, published by the American Bar Association in 2016.
