Director | Northeast Sustainable Hemp Association (NOSHA)
Julia Agron read the Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer at 15 and knew what she wanted to do with her life. She has been a passionate cannabis advocate for nearly 30 years. For 3 years she managed the largest medical marijuana dispensary in Western Mass. During her time there she had the opportunity to help thousands of people find increased health and wellness, and improve their lives through safe, legal, and supported access to this amazing plant.
After leaving the dispensary, Julia has focused on creating cannabis events, education, and outreach as The Little Weed Wife; cannabis consulting. Seeking the highest quality products for her clients, coupled with a background in regenerative agriculture, led her to hemp farming. Working in partnership with her husband, a permaculture designer and organic landcare professional, they founded Trees of Life Farm with one mission: grow hemp; save the world.
Her heartfelt belief that hemp can save small farms, be an instrument of revitalization for urban and rural economies, and that, if farmed sustainably, will be a major factor in reversing our plunge towards climate catastrophe, led her to come together with other independent hemp farmers, processors, product manufacturers, retailers and consumers to form NOSHA, the Northeast Sustainable Hemp Association. With NOSHA, Julia is working to grow an organization that focuses on education, collaboration and research to foster a sustainable, and just, regional hemp industry, and to ensure a place in it for the small farmer.
