The founder of the new CannabisMultimediaNetwork.com, is a native of Newton Massachusetts and a 1979 graduate of Tufts University, An Emmy Award winning sportscaster, Jimmy Young has over 40 years experience in commercial television and radio. He is one of the rare professionals in that industry who has had success in front of the camera, and in sales management.
He started his career producing sports for WBZ TV4 at age 20 when he was at Tufts University. He started his on camera career in Portland Maine for the CBS affiliate, WGME TV13 anchoring weekends and reporting during the week. There he covered two Super Bowls, the 1986 World Series, hosting multiple coaches shows at the University of Maine and did play byplay at the College baseball World Series.
After 11 years in Maine, he returned to his home town of Newton to anchor the first sports report ever at NECN in 1992. At NECN he hosted his own show, called Jimmy Young’s Sportsworld every weekend night for six years. In the Mid 90’s he was named the original color analyst for the first two years of MLS with the New England Revolution Jimmy won his Emmy Award in 1996 for a sports special, with then Patriots QB Drew Bledsoe. He was one of the co-founders for the nation’s first live sports talk show called Kid Company’s SportsWorld. He has hosted sports talk shows in Boston on WEEI, and many other radio outlets all over New England.
He is licensed US Soccer Federation youth soccer coach and has coached soccer for state, club, High School Varsity, and local town travel teams for over 35 years.
