Jacob Plowden is a communication specialist, cannabis activist/entrepreneur and photographer. He recently acquired his bachelor’s degree from CUNY Baruch College in Corporate Communications and a minor in Film Studies Analysis, with a specialization in fields of public relations and strategic management. He’s currently pursuing his master’s degree in Urban Studies at the CUNY School For Professional Studies.
He is the Vice President of CUNY Baruch Chapter of Students For Sensible Drug Policy, a student grassroots political organization dedicated to non-profit advocacy and education on reforming drug policy in the United States and internationally. Jacob is passionate about bringing awareness to major socioeconomic issues through intercultural communications, social media, public advocacy, photography, and public relations.
Jacob is also the creative director of Cannabis Cultural Association (CCA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City dedicated to bringing diversity to the industry whilst educating communities who have been most damaged and misinformed by the War on Drugs. Skilled in strategic management , emotional and cultural intelligence, he sees cannabis as “the great unifier” with the power to bring communities closer together, when utilized properly. Jacob hopes to unite different cultural demographics and provide awareness about the multifaceted benefits of cannabis and hemp.
