Mr. Jin ZHU founded SUNSCAPE LED, a horticulture LED lighting design manufacturer in 2015. Jin is a Chinese American innovator, investor and entrepreneur. In his mid-twenties, he worked at the Arlington Institute, a Virginia-based strategy think tank that applied system dynamics modeling to anticipate humanity’s world-wide future scenarios. From that experience, Jin invented the DIANE software system. DIANE received a U.S. patent and was commercialized in the intelligence analysis and risk management community around the world.

From 2008 to 2014, Jin returned to China to pursue investments in renewable and clean technology where he served as an investment management professional and venture partner for family offices based out of Hong Kong and Beijing. It was there that Jin leveraged his passion for business technology, and financed successful ventures in the solar and LED lighting industries. From 2014 to 2015, Jin served as chief representative of the Swiss company Solar Impulse’s SI2 aircraft and its mission to be the first ever, around the world flight powered by only solar energy.

Jin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Finance from George Washington University. Jin enjoys football, sailing and scuba diving during his personal time.
