Derrell Black is the Chapter President of Massachusetts for the nonprofit organization Minorities for Medical Marijuana (M4MM), a national nonprofit organization representing Black people and other minorities in the cannabis industry. Derrell has been with the organization since October 2018, working with the likes of Kush Groove smoke shop and their outreach efforts in the community of Roxbury, as well as facilitating outreach meetings of his own to enhance awareness of cannabis in disadvantaged communities.
Derrell has done public speaking and sat on a panel for the New England Real Estate Journal Cannabis in CRE 2019 about cannabis businesses in the disproportionate communities, consumers and patients aiming to advance change, recreational marijuana consumers, and Marijuana businesses. He has attended Elevate Northeast five week cultivation education winter seminar to gain knowledge regarding different aspects of cannabis such as cultivation, extraction, ancillary businesses, etc.
Derrell has over 15+ years of customer service experience, has 10 years of management experience and has impeccable people skills. He has been working since he was15 years old. Mr. Blackʼs bottom line is to educate Black people and minorities on cannabis production and sales by developing advocacy, education, and marketing campaigns to promote awareness, and education about the efficacy of cannabis and the viability of hemp.
Derrell Black is committed to youth awareness and development in the cannabis industry and is working on starting a consulting firm.
